Microscopic appearance: |
Hypochromic anisocytosis, macrocytosis.Erythropoiesis hypoplastic and normoblastic. Marrow shows effacement by blasts, abnormal promyelocytes with high N:C ratio, clumped nuclear chromatin, basophilic cytoplasm showing many agmophilic granules and Auer rods. Neutrophils and precursors show dysplastic feature—hypergranulation and hypolobulation. Cellularity about 75%. Residual hematopoiesis markedly suppressed along with interstitial infiltration with blasts. Reticulin Grade I. No evidence of granuloma or lymphoid aggregate seen. |
