Microscopic appearance: |
Normochromic, anisocytosis. Pancytopenia. Erythropoiesis and myelopoiesis are markedly suppressed. Marrow is diffusely infiltrated with medium to large size blast. Blast has high N:C ratio, pale blue granular cytoplasm, irregular cellular outline, and open nuclear chromatin containing 2-3 nucleoli. Lymphocytes and plasma cells reduced. Megakaryocytes also reduced. No granuloma or lymphoid tissue seen. |
