Microscopic findings: | Biopsy shows malignant cells invading the basement membrane and underlying connective tissue. The malignant cells are irregular in size and shape, with large nuclei. They have high nuclear / cytoplasmic ratios. Nuclei vary markedly in size and configuration. | ||||||||||
